We would like to share with you the history of Landshire as well as
familiarize you with all the functions of Landshire. The history of
Landshire is a fun tale to hear; it is one that was born in St Louis,
MO in 1961. Landshire began as a franchise, specializing in freshly
prepared sandwich delivery to businesses wanting to serve food without
the overhead. It was later sold off to individual independent owners.
In 1966 our owner, Joseph "Jody" Trover, bought the East St.
Louis, Illinois location which was our original home base. We soon outgrew
that location and in 1972 moved to our present location in Belleville,
IL.
The birth of the new company offered Jody many opportunities to venture
out into the market and create a niche, which has become our domain.
Jody began his daily routine early every morning by setting up production,
loading the trucks for delivery, and then beginning his route. On the
route he would also make sales calls. When he returned to the office
after a long day he would: make the deposits, check for specials that
required delivery that night, inspect product from the day, and make
sure equipment was ready for the next day. On his way home he would
deliver any special request. Jody personally signed each and every route
ticket with "Thanks -- Jody" to incorporate friendliness and
sincerity that was a part of assuring customer satisfaction. It was
his policy that the customer was always right and to treat each customer
with respect. From that time, it has been our mission to create a quality
product while guaranteeing high customer satisfaction. We believe that
the customer is in command. They are the reason for our existence today.
What makes us unique from other sandwich companies is our pride in maintaining
our mission.
Our
pride begins in the bakery. The bakery uses a special blend of dough
that will accommodate the freezing and heating temperatures our sandwiches
face. We take the time to create from scratch seven different kinds
of buns. Our Bakery supervisor checks the consistency of the dough and
measures the length of the bread each night to ensure we are serving
a quality bun.
The
pride carries over into production. The production crew has developed
many new innovations to help increase quality, taste, sanitation, and
efficiency. It is here that the original idea, conceived over two hundred
years ago by the Earl of Sandwich, has been perfected. They look at
the details of the end product, from the packaging to checking the contents.
All ingredients used in the production of our sandwiches are constantly
checked for quality, consistency and freshness. We use many of the same
name brand ingredients you would use in preparing your own sandwiches
at home.
Over
the years, we have developed a state-of-the-art distribution system
to insure our products reach our customers fast and fresh. Our drivers
are well trained, our fleet is kept young and well maintained, the refrigerated
cargo areas are monitored for proper temperature, and our inventory
is rotated nightly. We use a custom on-board computer system in every
truck to insure proper pricing and inventory control.
Our friendly and professional sales staff will help you choose the proper
mix and quantity of items. We supply point-of-sale advertising and other
advertising incentives to help you sell. We will keep your shelves stocked
and rotated on a weekly basis. Monthly specials help to introduce a
variety of products to your customers. We supply and maintain microwaves,
brewers and other equipment to keep your capital investment low.
We
now serve over 8000 locations including C-stores, schools, vending companies,
institutions, taverns, resorts, and special event locations. Anywhere
